Current News

Welcome to our first edition of Nick's Auto Advice newsletter. First off, I would like to introduce to you Christian Jorquera. Christian is the newest member to the team of Nick's Precision Automotive Service Center. Christian is an ASE certified master technician and is also certified with the State of Connecticut for emissions testing and repair and a welcome addition to our family shop.

If you have been to our shop lately I'm sure that you've noticed quite a bit of changes going on! We are in the process of putting in a fourth repair bay to better accommodate the work flow that we have. It's important to us at Nick's Automotive that we service our valued customers vehicles as quickly and efficiently as possible. It will also give Tara and I a little more office space which we really need! Rest assured with all of this going on that we are providing the same quality service that we have been for the past 10 years!

Nick's Tip of the Month

Get Ready For Winter!

Check Your Antifreeze
Nick’s Precision Automotive Service Center, Inc.

If you didn't change your anti-freeze last year, you'll want to do it now.
Your car's antifreeze is an especially important fluid in the winter because it keeps your car's engine, radiator and hoses from freezing. It also prevents engine corrosion.

Check Your Oil
Nick’s Precision Automotive Service Center, Inc.
In addition to being a lubricant, oil also dissipates heat and makes parts run cooler; it helps reduce engine noise; it combats rust and corrosion of metal surfaces; it acts as a seal for pistons, rings, and cylinder walls; it combines with the oil filter to remove foreign substances from the engine.
Winter grade oil is a lighter weight to help make cold weather starts easier. Naturally, you need to change the oil filter as well.

Wipers and Washers
Nick’s Precision Automotive Service Center, Inc.

If you have ever driven on a highway that has had a lot of salt and sand dumped on it you will know that a good set of wiper blades and a working windshield washer is essential. It takes about 10 seconds for the spray from the car in front of you to totally cover your windshield. Make sure your washers are in good working order and filled with washer solvent.

Get A Tune-Up
Nick’s Precision Automotive Service Center, Inc.

Winter driving puts an extra-added strain on the engine. The lower the temperature, the harder it is for the fuel to ignite when starting. If you haven't had a tune-up in a while, now is the time to get one. With a fresh set of spark plugs and new distributor cap, rotor and ignition wires as needed, your chances of your car starting without flooding greatly improve. Get the belts and hoses checked as well.
